In Hindu religion women power is known as SKAKTI which is believed to be the origin of the universe. We worship Shakti in various forms. Devi Durga is considered as the most powerful form of Shakti in Hindu mythology and is worshiped just at the advent of Winters in India! There is a week long festival known as Durga Puja when Idols of Devi Durga is installed in many temporarily built 'community-pandals' and people gather there to worship the Godess.
